About this opportunity
NASA's Shared Services Center seeks proton beam testing services for electronic equipment, with a capabilities submission deadline of July 7, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Central Time. This is a sole source procurement intended for ProNova Solutions, LLC under FAR 12.102(a) authority, conducted using FAR Part 12 commercial item procedures.
Place of performance is NASA Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas. The contractor must provide access to a high-energy proton beam facility capable of delivering up to 200 MeV (±5%) protons using a cyclotron (preferred) or synchrotron. The facility shall be equipped with a passive scattering nozzle producing irradiation fields from a minimum of 1×1 square inch up to 25×25 square inches, with typical particle flux rates between 1e+4 and 1e+9 protons per square centimeter per second. The contractor is responsible for real-time dosimetry measurements of particle fluence during testing and must provide physical accommodations and infrastructure support including test setup cabling, electrical power, equipment support infrastructure, and shipping logistics. NASA will provide its own test personnel to conduct the actual testing activities. NAICS code is 334517 (Irradiation Apparatus Manufacturing); PSC code is AJ11 (General Science and Technology R&D Services).
Interested organizations may submit written capabilities and qualifications statements only; oral communications are not acceptable. Submissions will be evaluated to determine whether the Government should conduct the procurement competitively rather than as sole source. The Government reserves the right to make the final determination regarding competitive status. NASA FAR Supplement Clause 1852.215-84 (Ombudsman) applies.
