About this file
This is a Statement of Work for proton testing services of electronic equipment. The contractor must provide access to a high-energy proton beam facility capable of delivering up to 200 MeV (+/-5%) protons, with a cyclotron being the preferred particle acceleration source, though a synchrotron is acceptable as an alternative. The facility shall be equipped with a passive scattering nozzle capable of producing irradiation fields ranging from a minimum of 1x1 square inch up to 25x25 square inches, with typical particle flux rates between 1e+4 and 1e+9 protons per square centimeter per second.
The contractor is responsible for providing real-time dosimetry measurements of particle fluence throughout testing operations. Additionally, the facility must supply physical accommodations and infrastructure support including test setup cabling, electrical power, equipment support infrastructure, and shipping logistics. NASA will provide its own test personnel to conduct the actual testing activities. This Statement of Work defines the technical and operational requirements that the selected facility must meet to support NASA's electronic equipment radiation testing program.

Statement of Work
Beam requirements for proton testing of electronic equipment:
Up to 200 MeV (+/-5%) high energy protons from a cyclotron (preferred) or synchrotron. Preferred passive scattering nozzle providing irradiation fields no less than 1x1 in2 up to 25x25 in2. Typical particle fluxes between 1e+4 and 1e+9 p/cm2-s. Dosimetry (particle fluence) is to be provided in real time by facility. Facility also provides accommodations for test setup cabling, power, and test equipment support (incl shipping). Test personnel is provided by NASA.
