About this opportunity

The United States Army intends to solicit counter-unmanned aerial systems (c-UAS) technologies for Project FLYTRAP 6.0, a multinational experimentation exercise in the EUCOM theater with V Corps scheduled for May 2027, with quad chart and white paper submissions due October 16, 2026. This is not a set-aside procurement; large and small businesses globally are invited to apply.

Performance takes place in Europe, with participation requiring deployment to the EUCOM theater. Selected vendors must participate in at least one Risk Reduction Exercise in the EUCOM theater (scheduled for November 2026 and February 2027) prior to the main event and deliver systems and provide operator training to forward units by February 2027.

The exercise will involve approximately 1,000 soldiers operating across 50+ square kilometers in a large-scale combat operations environment. Vendors must guarantee participation with at least two systems and address distinctive technical requirements across eleven capability areas: command and control, RF detection, passive/active radar, acoustic detection, EO/IR sensors, RF defeat systems, kinetic and directed energy weapons, deception systems, c-UAS launched effects, targetry platforms, and non-terrestrial-based systems providing sensing, communications, or effects integration.

Spectrum-dependent systems require a complete DD Form 1494 (due November 13, 2026) demonstrating Department of War spectrum approval experience and Host Nation Approval capability for European operations. Kinetic systems must be compatible with currently fielded U.S. Army weapon systems without modification. All submissions must address cost and lifecycle management, modular survivability and signature profile, interoperability and data management, theater entry and operational compliance, SWaP-C optimization, NDAA Section 889 compliance status, and attrition/replenishment strategies. Down-select notifications occur January 29, 2027. Selected participants may be invited to deploy systems for continued operational evaluation and potential engagement with the Defense Innovation Unit.

Update #2 · Latest ·

The United States Army invites large and small businesses from across the globe to submit an application to provide Department of War (DoW) Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (c-UAS) technologies for potential participation in Project FLYTRAP 6.0, conducted in the EUCOM theater with V Corps.
Project FLYTRAP is a recurring US/UK exercise uniting maneuver forces, industry, and the acquisition community to rapidly field emerging counter-UAS (cUAS) technologies and inform Army requirements.
The exercise adheres to the core tenets of the FLYTRAP series: US/UK integration, maneuver formation focus, progressive difficulty, robust OPFOR, data-driven assessment, and forward engineering. Project FLYTRAP 6.0 is a U.S. Army-led multinational counter-UAS experimentation exercise where roughly 1,000 soldiers will operate across 50+ square kilometers in a large-scale combat operations (LSCO) environment.
Project FLYTRAP 6.0 is an operational-focused initiative designed to evaluate emerging C-UAS capabilities in a realistic environment. Selected participants may be invited to deploy their systems and provide equipment to U.S. Army units for continued operational evaluation following the event. These kits will be assessed for suitability, effectiveness, interoperability, and operational relevance in support of Army modernization and capability development efforts.
