About this opportunity
The US Army Contracting Command-Redstone Services & IT Solutions Branch has issued a Special Notice for a Request for Information (RFI) regarding the procurement of a Pyranometer Calibration Source. The notice is specifically targeting potential sources that can provide a specialized scientific instrument with precise technical specifications. This market research effort is being conducted on behalf of the U.S. Army Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment Activity (USATA) to identify vendors capable of supplying a calibration source with specific performance parameters. The opportunity is associated with the Department of the Army Materiel Command Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal, an agency within the defense sector. The equipment sought must meet stringent technical requirements related to wavelength range, spectral mismatch, spatial non-uniformity, and temporal stability.
Contractors interested in responding to this market research opportunity must submit detailed information by June 4, 2025, directly to the designated Contracting Officer and Contract Specialist via email. The submission should include comprehensive company details such as full company name, business size, socio-economic status, point of contact information, Cage Code, and Unique Entity Identifier (UEI). The required Pyranometer Calibration Source must feature a wavelength range of 350-1500 nm, AM1.5G Spectral Mismatch less than 5%, and spatial non-uniformity less than 2% over a 25 mm by 25 mm square. There are no specific set-asides for this opportunity, meaning all qualified businesses can potentially participate. The equipment will be delivered to the APSL facility at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, and no personal computer will be required for its operation. This RFI represents an opportunity for vendors in the electrical equipment and component manufacturing sector to potentially supply specialized scientific instrumentation to the U.S. Army.
