About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support Medical Supply Chain is conducting a Request for Information (RFI) to identify small business manufacturers and distributors capable of providing an ultrasonic diagnostic probe. The specific product is a medical imaging device with specifications including a linear probe with a 44 mm field of view, bandwidth of 2-9 MHz, and a multi-angle biopsy guide. This RFI is focused on gathering market intelligence for potential future procurement under NAICS code 334510 (Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing). Interested small businesses must submit a three-page capability statement by March 21, 2025, via email to ryan.sullivan@dla.mil. The evaluation will assess companies' core business, manufacturing or distribution capabilities, experience with similar medical products, storage and distribution expertise, and compliance with Buy American Act and FDA approval requirements.

No specific set-aside has been designated for this opportunity, though the RFI is explicitly targeting small businesses. The RFI seeks detailed information about potential vendors' production capacity, inventory management, shelf-life procedures, and distribution capabilities both domestically and internationally. Companies must demonstrate ability to provide products with a minimum 12-month shelf life and provide comprehensive information about their business type, NAICS codes, and past performance. Large businesses will not be considered in this market research effort. While no specific award value or quantity is mentioned, the solicitation indicates the potential for future medical supply contracts supporting military and federal agency needs, including surgical items, medical equipment, and diagnostic tools for both human and veterinary applications.
