About this opportunity
Air Education and Training Command is conducting market research through a sources sought announcement to identify potential suppliers of a Printed Circuit Board milling system for Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, with responses due by 10:00 AM CST on July 23, 2026. This is a sources sought notice only and does not constitute a solicitation or commitment to award; responding parties should not submit proposals at this time.
The system must support in-house rapid prototyping, milling, drilling, and routing operations. Performance requirements include a maximum milling spindle speed of at least 60,000 RPM to process structures down to 100 micrometers; mechanical resolution of 0.47 micrometers (0.02 mil) on X/Y axes and 0.2 micrometers on the Z axis; and repeatability tolerance of 5 micrometers (0.2 mil). The equipment must feature a fully automatic tool changer holding a minimum of 15 tools, sensor-controlled automatic milling depth and width adjustment, and an integrated camera system for automatic optical fiducial recognition and board alignment. The machine base must be constructed of heavy granite or equivalent high-density vibration-dampening material. The system must accommodate working areas up to 305 mm × 229 mm × 8 mm and physically fit substrates up to 330 mm × 250 mm × 26 mm. Additional capabilities include an integrated vacuum table for workholding, dispensing or solder paste dispensing compatibility, integrated CAM/system software supporting standard CAD data import and material parameter libraries, and pneumatic self-cleaning functionality for the spindle and milling depth sensor.
Responses should include company name, address, phone number, point of contact, CAGE code, company size status, and U.S. ownership information. Submit to lakeita.jackson@us.af.mil and kimberley.alvarez.1@us.af.mil; confirm receipt with Contract Specialist Lakeita Jackson (228-377-0477) or Contracting Officer Kimberley Alvarez (228-377-1837) prior to the deadline.
