About this opportunity

The Food and Drug Administration's Denver Human and Animal Food Laboratory (DENHAFL) is conducting market research to identify qualified vendors capable of providing comprehensive preventative maintenance and repair services for nitrogen generator equipment. This Request for Information (RFI) seeks contractors who can deliver annual preventative maintenance visits, unlimited on-site repairs, technical support, and parts replacement for twelve Peak Nitrogen Generators that are critical to the laboratory's analytical instrumentation, including triple quadrupole mass spectrometers. Qualified vendors must provide OEM-trained technicians, factory-certified parts, maintain a maximum 5-calendar day on-site response time, and offer direct telephone and internet technical support. The RFI solicits detailed information across multiple categories including company background, technical capabilities, service approach, quality assurance, contract structure, and pricing. Responses must be submitted electronically by July 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM EST to Nina Montgomery at the FDA, with a maximum 15-page response including company capability statements, past performance examples, and relevant certifications.

This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside under NAICS code 811210 for Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance. No current incumbents or contractors are identified in the documentation, and no specific award values or budget ranges are disclosed as this is solely a market research exercise. The laboratory's twelve Peak Nitrogen Generators are essential for analyzing approximately 500-600 samples annually, with any equipment downtime severely impacting the facility's analytical capabilities and mission-critical work production. The proposed performance period would span one base year from July 20, 2025, through July 19, 2026, with an option for an additional year extending through July 19, 2027. The RFI emphasizes that this market research does not constitute a solicitation or commitment to purchase, but aims to assess vendor capabilities and refine requirements for a potential future solicitation.
