About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure a power supply unit with National Stock Number 7H-6120-017246229, specifically requesting 8 units to be delivered to DLA Distribution Norfolk, VA. The proposed contract action will be solicited and negotiated under FAR 6.302-1, which allows for single-source procurement when specific conditions are met. Interested parties are encouraged to identify their capability to respond to the requirement, with proposals, quotations, or capability statements accepted within 45 days of the synopsis publication (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement). The government retains sole discretion in determining whether to proceed with competitive procurement based on received information. Technical documentation and specifications can be obtained through the DoD Single Stock Point at Document Automation and Production Service, with multiple access methods including online ASSIST-Quick Search, direct website ordering, or manual request methods.

There are no specific set-aside designations for this contract opportunity, and no incumbent contractors are mentioned in the pre-solicitation notice. The quantity is explicitly stated as 8 units of the power supply, with delivery specified to SW3117 at the Norfolk, VA distribution center. The procurement is notable for its unique constraints, specifically that the government does not own the rights to use data needed to purchase or repair the part from alternative sources, and reverse engineering is deemed uneconomical. The contract was posted on March 14, 2025, with responses due by April 28, 2025, indicating a procurement timeline of approximately 45 days. While no specific award value is provided, the procurement falls under the Product Service Code 6120 for Transformers: Distribution and Power Station, suggesting a specialized technical equipment acquisition.
