About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 29 power supply units with National Stock Number 7G-6130-014955240, as part of a repair/modification contract. The solicitation is for a specific technical data package (TDP) version 008, with delivery specified as FOB Origin. The government intends to negotiate with a single source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, though all responsible sources may express interest and submit capability statements or proposals. Interested parties have 45 days from the publication date to respond (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement), with the government retaining sole discretion on whether to compete the procurement. Potential vendors can obtain technical specifications and documentation through the DoD Single Stock Point's Document Automation and Production Service, with multiple access methods including online downloads, website ordering, or direct contact with their help desk.
This pre-solicitation is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, focusing on electrical converters in the nonrotating category (PSC 6130). The government has explicitly stated they will not be using FAR Part 12 policies for commercial item acquisition, though vendors may still propose commercial alternatives within 15 days of the notice. While specific award values are not disclosed, the procurement involves a specialized technical component with specific quantity and delivery requirements. Vendors interested in responding must carefully review the technical documentation and be prepared to meet the precise specifications outlined in the NSN and technical data package. Documentation access requires either internet capabilities or willingness to contact the DODSSP ASSIST Help Desk directly, with potential vendors needing to demonstrate technical capability and compliance with the detailed requirements.
