About this opportunity

The General Services Administration (GSA), Region 8 Public Buildings Service, is seeking a small business contractor to perform electrical and data infrastructure modifications in Room 215 of the federal building located in Aberdeen, South Dakota. The project involves removing thirty-two existing electrical and data feeds while installing nine new power and data feeds and two power-only feeds. Key contract requirements include coordinating pedestrian control, demolishing existing electrical wires and data cables, reusing existing conduits and circuits where possible, and installing new wiring in compliance with National Electric Code standards. The contractor will be responsible for precise technical specifications, including specific cable types (Leviton LM-RDT Cat 6A UTP CMP), cable management, termination, testing, and certification. While specific evaluation criteria are not detailed in the pre-solicitation notice, the contractor must demonstrate technical capability to meet complex electrical and data infrastructure requirements.

The contract is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, targeting commercial and institutional building construction (NAICS 236220). The project scope includes comprehensive electrical work such as removing and installing power feeds, creating a new panel circuit directory, labeling outlet covers, and ensuring all electrical installations meet strict technical standards. Contractors must field verify all site conditions, including material quantities and feed locations, and be prepared to perform potentially disruptive work after hours. The pre-solicitation was posted on April 29, 2025, with responses due by May 13, 2025. While no specific budget range is mentioned, the detailed technical requirements suggest a complex project involving precise electrical and data infrastructure modifications, requiring specialized expertise in federal building infrastructure upgrades.
