About this opportunity
The National Institute of Standards and Technology issued a Notice of Intent to Sole Source two portable tritium air monitors from Mirion Technologies under FAR 12.102-1(a) (commercial supply), with responses due September 1, 2026, by 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time. NIST's Material Measurements Lab, Center for Neutron Research intends to procure the monitors on a Firm Fixed Price basis to enable real-time detection and measurement of airborne tritium concentrations in areas where fixed monitoring systems do not provide continuous surveillance, particularly during non-routine operations, maintenance activities, and leak investigations at an approximately 20 megawatt test reactor facility.
The required deliverables include two portable tritium monitors equipped with 600 cubic centimeter ionization chambers with manual gamma compensation, four external alarm beacons, two transport cases, two shoulder straps, three different lengths of silicone hose sets (5 meters, 10 meters, and 25 meters each), training, one-year annual maintenance, and one-year extended warranty with FOB Destination delivery. Technical specifications require 30 kilobecquerels per cubic meter sensitivity, real-time display, integrated data logging, configurable alarms, touchscreen interface, 6-kilogram weight with external 24-volt power supply, and gamma compensation capability.
Interested firms must submit technical documentation, brochures, manuals, demonstration videos, customer references, and company information to Contract Specialist Ranae Armstrong at ranae.armstrong@nist.gov with a copy to Contracting Officer Don Collie at Donald.collie@nist.gov. Questions must be submitted by August 27, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time via email only. Notice ID: NB610010-26-02238.
