About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Materiel Command Contracting Command Rock Island Arsenal is seeking to identify viable Company Level Small Uncrewed Aircraft System (SUAS) solutions through a multiphase challenge designed to support United States Army Maneuver Elements. This solicitation represents a follow-on effort to a March 2024 Sources Sought Notice and aims to assess available SUAS candidates for flight demonstration while establishing the initial Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) Marketplace. The challenge is structured to inform industry of the Army's emerging operational requirements and accelerate the integration of agile, cutting-edge SUAS technologies. Responses will be evaluated based on their potential to meet urgent operational requirements, with the Program Manager reserving the right to use submissions as information gathering only. The solicitation is divided into two white paper response groups, with Group 1 submissions due between November 3-19, 2025, and Group 2 submissions accepted from November 20 through December 17, 2025, followed by a continuing announcement at a later date.
This opportunity is not designated as a set-aside contract. No specific award values or budget ranges have been disclosed in the solicitation notice, nor are incumbent contractors or potential awardees identified. The solicitation does not specify a predetermined quantity of systems to be procured or a defined timeline for service delivery beyond the challenge phases. Submissions made after the initial two white paper groups will still be considered for their innovation and potential application to operational mission changes and technological innovations. All challenge responses received may be incorporated into UAS Marketplace submissions, with selected solutions potentially advancing to UAS Marketplace Storefront onboarding to support and accelerate the Army's SUAS acquisition objectives.
