About this opportunity
The Special Notice is for the procurement of Platinum and Platinum-Rhodium Sputtering Targets by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). NASA's Glenn Research Center has a requirement for these sputtering targets to support their harsh environment detector effort for fission surface power applications.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to inform potential contractors of NASA's need for a Platinum sputtering target and a Platinum-Rhodium sputtering target, both with specific composition and dimensional requirements. The Special Notice includes a Statement of Work detailing the technical specifications. The procurement will be conducted as a commercial item acquisition under FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13, and is set aside for small businesses. Interested contractors must submit their capabilities and qualifications to NASA by July 4, 2024, after which the government will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with a sole source contract to Plasmaterials, Inc.
