About this opportunity

Argonne National Laboratory, operating on behalf of the Department of Energy Office of Science, seeks firm fixed-price quotations for a picosecond laser driver and laser head, with proposals due August 25, 2026 at 5:00 PM CST and questions due by August 24, 2026 at 5:00 PM CST. Award will be made on lowest price, technically acceptable basis.

Place of performance is Lemont, Illinois. The solicitation number is 6-B185-Q-00413-00.

The diode laser driver must operate in pulsed or continuous wave modes with wavelength range 266–1990 nm, pulse duration as short as 40 picoseconds FWHM with picosecond precision, repetition rates from 2.5 kHz to 80 MHz selectable from base frequencies of 80 MHz or 1 MHz divided by 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, or 32, jitter of typical 3–5 picoseconds, external TTL trigger input at 5 V with adjustable level, sync output, dual gating inputs for time-resolved control, 110/120 VAC or 220/240 VAC power supply at 50/60 Hz with maximum 45 W consumption, dimensions of 237 × 310 × 97 mm, and 5-year limited warranty. The picosecond laser head must provide 375 nm wavelength (±10 nm), pulse width less than 90 picoseconds typical, repetition rate up to 40 MHz, average optical power of 5 mW typical, 40 mW CW power, peak power up to 1 W, beam divergence approximately 0.0063 radians parallel, numerical aperture 0.55, horizontal polarization with extinction ratio greater than 10, operation in pulsed, burst, and continuous wave modes, thermoelectric cooling, with optional fiber coupling (single-mode, multi-mode, or polarization-maintaining).

Offerors must submit the completed ANL-70 Request for Quotation and ANL-70A Representations and Certifications. Quotations are F.O.B. Destination with Net 15 payment terms, subject to Argonne Terms and Conditions for Commercial Items and Services. Offerors must provide country of origin for equipment and exclude shipping insurance from proposals. The NAICS code is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing; PSC is 6640, Laboratory Equipment and Supplies.
