About this opportunity
The Department of Health and Human Services Indian Health Service, specifically the Navajo Area Indian Health Service's Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility, has issued a Special Notice seeking a contractor to provide wheelchairs for the Pinon Health Center Outpatient Department. This procurement is being conducted under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) and falls under the Medical, Dental, and Hospital Equipment and Supplies Merchant Wholesalers NAICS category (423450). The notice was posted on September 8, 2025, with a response deadline of September 10, 2025. The procurement is classified under PSC 6530 for Hospital Furniture, Equipment, Utensils, and Supplies and does not utilize any set-aside designations. The opportunity represents a straightforward acquisition for essential medical equipment needed for patient care operations.
The primary objective of this procurement is to replace all existing wheelchairs at the Pinon Health Center with new ones, as the current wheelchairs require repairs to function safely and are no longer suitable for proper patient care and transportation needs. The facility operates as an outpatient clinic where patients with physical limitations frequently require wheelchair assistance to move between locations. Contractors have an extremely tight deadline, with only two days between the posting date and the September 10, 2025 due date to respond to this opportunity. The government has provided detailed product specification sheets for two wheelchair models - the Staxi Ranger with an 800-pound capacity and a standard model with a 600-pound capacity - both featuring specialized storage capabilities, safety features, and ergonomic designs. No specific eligibility criteria or set-aside requirements are mentioned, indicating this is open to all qualified contractors capable of providing the specified wheelchair equipment.
