About this opportunity

Air Force Special Operations Command is conducting market research to identify capable vendors who can provide a tactical unattended ground-based counter-small unmanned aerial system (cUAS) sensor for deployment at Cannon Air Force Base, with responses due July 22, 2026. The sensor must detect Group 1 and 2 commercial sUAS and provide early warning in deployed environments.

The system must meet 31 salient characteristics spanning detection, communications, security, and logistics. Detection capabilities include seismic sensing for human footsteps and vehicle movement at 100+ meters and 200+ meters respectively, magnetic sensing for vehicles within 5 meters, passive infrared break-wire sensing to 70 meters for personnel and 200 meters for vehicles, and passive electronic signal detection. Individual sensor nodes are constrained to 325 cubic centimeters maximum volume and 350 grams maximum dry weight, with internal battery operation for over 24 months at 50 daily activations. The system must support star topology communication up to 15 kilometers line-of-sight and integrate with Starlink, ZeroTier, ATAK, Cursor-on-Target, and common operating picture platforms. Security requirements include AES-256 encryption at the node level and minimum AES-128 in transmission with denial-of-service resistance. The system must be deployable within two minutes with one-button operation, meet IP-67 standards, include browser-based user interface compatible with Windows tablets and laptops, store minimum 300,000 sensor alarms, and provide minimum one-year warranty and software support with extension options to four years. NAICS 334511; PSC 6665.
