About this opportunity

The U.S. Department of Transportation's Volpe National Transportation Systems Center intends to modify an existing Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract with Quality Turbo Charger Components LLC to provide technical support for the Army's locomotive fleet. The modification will increase the contract ceiling to $7,500,000 to support 72 conventional locomotives across 28 locations nationwide, addressing the Army's loss of in-house locomotive maintenance capabilities. The sole source justification stems from the vendor's existing knowledge of the locomotive fleet and ability to perform urgent safety inspections and emergency repairs, with work scheduled to begin in May 2025. The contract will cover yearly safety inspections, technical support, and necessary repairs, with the next federally mandated safety inspections due in May 2025. This noncompetitive modification is being pursued to ensure continuous maintenance and operational readiness of the Army's locomotive fleet, with the contract modification expected to be awarded on or about April 28th, 2025.
