About this opportunity

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking qualified contractors to refurbish the parking lot at the Florence Regional Airport Air Traffic Control Tower and Terminal Radar Approach Control facility in South Carolina. The project involves comprehensive parking lot restoration, including pressure washing concrete surfaces, repairing and seal coating asphalt areas, applying new striping, replacing concrete sidewalk sections, and constructing a new dumpster pad. The FAA intends to award a single Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract to the lowest price, technically acceptable bidder, with responses due by May 22, 2025. Interested vendors must submit a capability statement detailing previous similar work, years in business, and ability to meet all Statement of Work requirements. Respondents are also required to provide an expected programmatic approach and a rough order of magnitude estimate for budgetary planning purposes.

The pre-solicitation notice specifically encourages participation from small businesses, with particular emphasis on Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and 8(a) program participants. The FAA is conducting market research to determine if the contract can be set aside for small or economically disadvantaged businesses, including potential local area set-asides. Work must be performed Tuesday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM (EST), with strict adherence to FAA safety regulations and OSHA standards. Contractors will be required to provide detailed documentation, including project schedules and safety plans, and must warranty materials and workmanship for one year from final project acceptance. While no specific contract value is mentioned, the project falls under the NAICS category 238990 for All Other Specialty Trade Contractors and PSC category Y1LZ for Construction of Parking Facilities.
