About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 18 units of Panel Indicators (NSN 1R-1680-014262855-V2) classified as miscellaneous aircraft accessories and components. This procurement requires source control approval as the part is flight critical and must be acquired from government-approved sources specified on source control or selected item drawings per DoD-STD-100 standards. The government lacks adequate technical data, data rights, or manufacturing knowledge to permit full and open competition, making this a restricted procurement limited to previously approved sources. New sources seeking approval must submit detailed information per NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support brochures for either spares or repair capabilities, though the time required for new source approval typically prevents contract award delays. The response deadline is September 22, 2025, and delivery terms are FOB Origin.

This opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to approved sources only. The procurement specifies a quantity of 18 units with delivery FOB Origin terms, though no specific contract value or budget range is disclosed in the notice. The timeline allows nearly ten months from the posting date in December 2024 to the September 2025 deadline, providing adequate time for approved sources to respond or for new sources to potentially complete the approval process. No incumbent contractors or potential bidders are specifically named in the solicitation. The restrictive nature of this procurement stems from the flight-critical designation and the government's determination that existing technical data is insufficient to support broader competition.
