About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to acquire 572 Power Amplifier Modules (PAMs) for the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft, with a specific National Stock Number (NSN 7RH 1680 015817867 E7). The procurement requires engineering source approval from the design control activity, emphasizing the critical nature of maintaining high-quality parts through approved sources. This acquisition is unique due to the existing specialized design capabilities, engineering skills, and manufacturing/repair knowledge held by qualified sources. The pre-solicitation notice indicates that potential contractors must meet stringent qualification procedures as approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity. The opportunity was posted on March 13, 2025, with responses due by March 28, 2025, suggesting a relatively tight timeline for potential bidders to prepare and submit their proposals.
The contract opportunity does not have a specific set-aside designation, which implies it is open to a broad range of potential contractors. The procurement falls under the Product Service Code (PSC) 1680 for Miscellaneous Aircraft Accessories and Components. While specific award values are not disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the requirement for 572 Power Amplifier Modules suggests a significant procurement effort. The contract appears to have strict qualification requirements, with an emphasis on maintaining the unique technical capabilities and data rights of approved sources. Potential contractors will need to demonstrate extensive engineering expertise and the ability to meet the precise technical specifications required for these critical aircraft components. The procurement is specifically for defense-related applications, targeting the maintenance and support of the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft's technical infrastructure.
