About this opportunity
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has issued a Sole Source Justification Notice for leasing three Mobile Home Unit (MHU) lots/pads from Yellow Pine Rentals in Madison County, Florida, to provide temporary housing for disaster survivors impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The contract, awarded on March 31, 2025, is structured to support the Direct Housing Assistance Program under the Stafford Act, with an expected 18-month duration from the Presidential Disaster Declarations. Market research was conducted through vendor outreach, resulting in a Fixed Firm Price contract with a base period of three months and potential five three-month extension options. The sole source justification is predicated on limited regional vendors and the critical need to house disaster survivors near their original sites, with funding sourced from Disaster Relief Funds for disaster relief numbers 4828DR-FL and 4834DR-FL across fiscal years 2025 and 2026. While the exact contract value was not specified, the contract will cover temporary housing lot rentals to support hurricane recovery efforts, with potential extensions subject to Congressional approval.
