About this opportunity
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has issued a Sole Source Justification Notice for leasing four Mobile Housing Unit (MHU) pads at Paradise Park in Perry, Florida to provide temporary housing for disaster survivors affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The contract, awarded on May 6, 2025, is for an 18-month period starting May 5, 2025, with a base six-month period and two optional six-month extensions, funded through Disaster Relief Funds 4828DR-FL and 4834DR-FL. After conducting market research involving phone calls to ten potential vendors, FEMA determined Paradise Park was the only reasonably available source for these housing accommodations, which are critical for supporting disaster survivors with temporary housing. The justification is based on the limited regional housing options in the affected area and the urgent need to provide housing under the Stafford Act's Direct Housing Assistance Program. While the exact contract value was not specified, the contract was awarded to Paradise Park for the monthly lease of the four MHU pads, with the housing assistance program potentially running until March 2027 pending Congressional extensions.
