The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to procure Integrated Air Data Inertial Reference Unit (I-ADIRU) Updates for the P-8A Poseidon aircraft's flight deck system. This contract will be awarded to The Boeing Company on a sole source basis under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, as Boeing is identified as the only responsible source capable of satisfying the agency's requirements. The justification centers on Boeing's role as the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the P-8A aircraft, providing them with the detailed knowledge necessary to perform updates and retrofits in a timely and cost-effective manner. The procurement falls under NAICS code 336413 for Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing and PSC code 1680 for Miscellaneous Aircraft Accessories and Components. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on September 30, 2025, with a due date of October 15, 2025, though this synopsis serves informational purposes only.

This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and will proceed as a full and open competition exception. The Boeing Company of Seattle, Washington, is identified as the sole contractor for this effort, reflecting their incumbent position as the P-8A aircraft manufacturer. Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities are directed to contact Ms. Larisa Ivanov at Boeing via the provided email address. The notice does not specify contract values, quantities of units to be updated, or detailed timelines for service delivery. The procurement focuses specifically on updates to support the latest configuration of the P-8A Poseidon's flight deck system, indicating this is likely a modernization or upgrade effort for the existing aircraft fleet.
