About this opportunity
The US Coast Guard is conducting market research through a Sources Sought Notice to identify potential suppliers for aircraft landing gear and shock strut components. The procurement focuses on eight specific component types, including shock struts, actuator cylinders, nose landing struts, trunnion struts, and drag braces, with strict requirements for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) traceability. Interested businesses must respond to a series of detailed questions covering company size, employee count, NAICS code, SAM.GOV status, business ownership type, lead times, and shipping information. Responses are due by April 8, 2025, at 12:00 PM EST and must be submitted via email to Shavon Smith. The Coast Guard will use these responses to determine potential sources for a future procurement, with responses serving as market research and not constituting a formal solicitation.
This Sources Sought Notice is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, indicating preference for small business participation. While no specific award value or budget range is disclosed, the notice suggests a focused procurement for aircraft parts associated with Manufacturer Cage Code 98897. The government seeks comprehensive information about potential suppliers, including their capability to provide OEM-traceable components, existing government agency references, and detailed logistics capabilities. Respondents must demonstrate their technical competence, provide shipping information, and outline warranty considerations. The notice emphasizes that this is a preliminary market research step, and any future solicitation will be published on SAM.GOV, requiring interested parties to monitor the website and submit formal proposals when the solicitation is released.
