About this opportunity

The Department of the Army Alaska Army National Guard seeks procurement of a High Density Mobile Shelving (HDMS) system for Room 152 at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, with proposals due September 28, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Alaska time. Place of performance is Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Anchorage, Alaska 99506. The system comprises one stationary single-faced unit (7' × 30" × 121.25" with 5 openings), six double-faced hand-crank movable units (7' × 36" × 121.25" with 5 openings each), and one single-faced cantilever parachute rack (7' × 24" × 137.44" with 30 arms). The preferred manufacturer is Spacesaver; "or equal" systems meeting all specified physical, functional, and dimensional characteristics are acceptable. Each shelf must support a maximum individual load of 495 pounds. The system must include structural steel rails, grouted floor system with dynamic levelers, heavy-duty plywood subfloor, hand-crank carriages with integrated anti-roll safety locks, and high-pressure laminate finish panels. The contractor is solely responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, national, and military safety codes and industry standards, including seismic considerations for the high seismic zone location; standard floor-anchoring and manufacturer-approved anti-tip mechanisms must be provided. Specialized seismic calculations, Professional Engineer stamps, and building permits are not required government deliverables.

Pricing must encompass engineering design, factory manufacturing, freight, inside delivery, uncrating, certified technician assembly and installation, and jobsite cleanup on an FOB Destination basis. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for September 24, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. Alaska time at 17470 Airlifter Drive (Hangar 18), JBER. Award will be firm-fixed-price to the responsible offeror offering best value, evaluated on technical acceptability, price, and past performance.
