About this opportunity

The Defense Threat Reduction Agency published a Limited/Sole Source Justification Notice to award a contract to General Dynamics Mission Systems for operational support of radionuclide international monitoring systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems will provide operations and maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and engineering expertise for 11 radionuclide particulate monitoring stations and 4 noble gas monitoring stations that are part of the United States' contribution to detecting nuclear explosions under the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty. As the only contractor with experience designing, deploying, and sustaining the proprietary monitoring systems, General Dynamics Mission Systems will receive an estimated contract valued at approximately $XX million over five years starting August 2022.

DTRA is the Department of Defense (DoD) executive agent for the Nuclear Arms Control Technology (NACT) program which operates, maintains, and improves the majority of the U.S. portion of the International Monitoring System (IMS). The U.S. IMS supports United States Government (USG) and DoD objectives and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban- Treaty (CTBT) for nuclear detonation monitoring, mitigation of impacts from natural and other catastrophes, and other civil and scientific applications. DTRA requires unique and highlyspecialized engineering capabilities to operate and sustain the 11 US IMS radionuclide monitoring stations located in the continental United States (CONUS), Alaska, Hawaii, US controlled Pacific Territories, and Antarctica.
