This solicitation has been cancelled. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District, cancelled solicitation W912P526QA024 for Mill Springs Mill Operator and Interpretive Services effective July 27, 2026, due to a change in the Government's requirements.

The procurement was a Total Small Business set-aside for operation and interpretation of Mill Springs Mill at Lake Cumberland, Kentucky, approximately 15 miles from Somerset and 5 miles from Monticello on Highway 1275 in Wayne County. The contract was a firm-fixed-price service contract covering one base year (2026 season) and three option years (2027–2029). The mill operated on predetermined days during the recreation season, primarily Fridays through Sundays and holidays, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time. The 2026 base year required 58 working days (May 22–September 15). The contractor was required to furnish all labor, equipment, fuel, transportation, tools, supplies, and management; the Government furnished audio/visual equipment, tools, corn, lubricants, and a portable air conditioner. The miller operator had to demonstrate proficiency in mill machinery operation, waterwheel management, stone maintenance, and public interpretation of the mill's history and Civil War significance. Average annual visitation was 22,912 across the three preceding calendar years.

Award was to be made to the lowest-priced responsible offeror with satisfactory past performance and milling expertise. Prior to cancellation, the solicitation underwent five amendments extending the deadline from May 27 through July 7, 2026 at 2:00 PM Central Time, with Amendment 0003 providing Government responses to industry questions.
