About this opportunity
The Department of Health and Human Services Food and Drug Administration Office of Acquisition and Grant Services is seeking onsite preventative maintenance and calibration services for pipettes at the FDA's Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) facility in Silver Spring, Maryland. The contract requires two annual maintenance visits over a five-year period from June 2025 through June 2030, including a base year and four option years, with services performed in accordance with ISO 17025 standards. The scope includes pre-calibration testing, preventative maintenance, full calibration with ten consecutive measurements at three different volumes, and detailed reporting for approximately 303 pipettes from various manufacturers including Eppendorf, Rainin, VIAFLO, Sartorius, Gilson, and Thermo Labsystems. The first maintenance visit must occur within 30 days of order issuance, with the second visit scheduled at least two weeks prior to 180 days thereafter. Quotes must be submitted via email to Suzanne Martella by June 10, 2025 at 10:00 AM Central Time, with the solicitation falling under NAICS code 811210 for Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance.
This opportunity is designated as a total small business set-aside, restricting participation to qualified small business concerns. The contract covers maintenance and calibration of single-channel and multi-channel pipettes with volume ranges spanning from 0.1-3 µL to 50 mL, including both electronic and manual models across fixed and adjustable configurations. The solicitation allows for up to a 20% variation in pipette quantities to accommodate potential changes in equipment inventory. All services will be performed onsite at the FDA CBER facility in Silver Spring, Maryland, with pipettes provided in "as-is" condition and potentially requiring charging or consumable replacements. While specific contract values are not disclosed in the solicitation documents, the multi-year structure with annual maintenance visits suggests a substantial ongoing service commitment for the specialized laboratory equipment maintenance requirements.
