About this opportunity

The United States Department of Homeland Security's Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has issued a Special Notice for a potential lease of on-airport space in Alexandria, Louisiana at Alexandria International Airport (AEX). The notice, posted on January 8, 2025, indicates the government's intent to award a lease using Other Than Full and Open Competition for an existing lease set to expire on February 1, 2025. The solicitation seeks a minimum of 1,400 Rentable Square Feet of space located directly on airport property, with all ancillary services included in the rental consideration. This notice has been reviewed and approved in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.305, which governs limited competition procurement methods. The government has explicitly stated that this is not a formal solicitation for offers, but rather a notification of potential procurement intentions.

The primary objective of this Special Notice is to explore leasing options for TSA's administrative and operational space at Alexandria International Airport. Contractors interested in responding should be aware that the government will comprehensively evaluate potential offers, considering factors such as relocation costs and overall economic advantages. The deadline for responding to this notice is January 23, 2025, though the government emphasizes that no costs will be reimbursed for submitting responses. While there is no specific set-aside for this opportunity, the government may consider alternative spaces if they prove economically advantageous. Potential respondents should understand that the government retains sole discretion in determining whether to proceed with a competitive procurement based on responses received. The notice is specifically targeted at lessors of nonresidential buildings, as indicated by the NAICS category 531120, and any interested parties must be prepared to provide a comprehensive capability statement that meets TSA's specific on-airport space requirements.
