This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside to provide structural fabrication of hydraulic steel structures called stoplogs, which are stackable welded truss structures used to create a temporary damming surface across the lock chamber. The contract requires fabrication of 4 stoplogs in the Base, 1 stoplog in Option 1, and 1 stoplog in Option 2, each approximately 84’ long and weighing approximately 60,300 pounds. After fabrication, the structures are required to be blasted to white metal (SSPC SP 5) and painted with the 23-A-Z moisture cure urethane paint system. One Chain Sling Assembly is to be provided for each fabricated stoplog. The Chain Sling Assemblies are to be used to pick up and place the stoplogs. Option 3 requires a pedestrian bridge to either be acquired or fabricated, and potentially painted. The pedestrian bridge will span the lock chamber above the stoplogs to allow project personnel to walk across the upstream end of the lock chamber. The bridge is to be maneuvered back and forth from spanning the lock chamber to its storage location multiply times. The Contractor is also required to provide a chain sling assembly to maneuver the bridge by crane. The fabricator will deliver and unload the stoplogs, and potentially the pedestrian bridge, to Old Hickory Lock located in Old Hickory, TN in accordance with the attached scope of work.
