About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network 19 (Network Contracting Office 19) issued a notice of intent to sole source the acquisition of an Ekso Indego Gait Training Device from Ekso Bionics for the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System, with a response deadline of September 12, 2026. The VA determined that only Ekso Bionics can meet the agency's needs because it is the sole authorized manufacturer and maintainer of the Ekso Indego device at the required quality level, citing FAR 12.102(a) justification.

The Oklahoma City Physical Therapy Department requires the device for neurological gait training in inpatient and outpatient populations, including individuals with multiple sclerosis, acquired brain injury, spinal cord injuries at levels T4 to L5, and spinal cord injuries at levels C7 to T3 (ASIA D classification). The VA notes that the Indego is the only device capable of supporting patients up to 250 pounds and the only model that disassembles into compact units for storage.

This notice is not a request for competitive quotes and solicitation documents are not available. Any business believing it can provide equivalent capability may submit a written statement within the stated timeframe; telephone requests will not be accepted.
