About this opportunity

The United States Coast Guard (USCG), operating under the Department of Homeland Security, has issued a Special Notice regarding the procurement of an Oily Water Separator (OWS) for the USCGC SENECA located in Portsmouth, VA. The notice indicates the USCG's intent to award a sole-source contract to GEA Mechanical Equipment US for one OWS unit, specifically model WSE-5-01-037, on 04/07/2025. The current OWS on the vessel is non-operational, and technical services have determined that replacement is more cost-effective than repair. This Special Notice serves as an informational communication to potential contractors about the government's procurement plans. The notice is classified under NAICS category 333998 for Miscellaneous General Purpose Machinery Manufacturing.

Interested contractors are invited to respond to the notice by 10 AM on 4 April 2025, with a comprehensive submission to Jacqueline Handley via email. The response should include detailed company information such as name, address, CAGE code, UEI number, business size, NAICS code, small business type, point of contact, contact details, and web URL. Contractors are required to provide documentation demonstrating part equivalence to the GEA Mechanical Equipment US parts and include information about their capability to handle classified information. The government emphasizes that this is not a formal Request for Quote and explicitly instructs contractors not to submit pricing information. The notice allows potential suppliers to demonstrate their capability to meet the supply demand, with the government reserving the right to ask follow-up clarifying questions. All proprietary information submitted will be protected and handled accordingly, with interested parties responsible for properly marking sensitive information.
