About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command seeks direct replacement wafer butterfly valves from OEM Crane Chem-Pharma and Energy for a T-AKE-4 vessel, with quotes due August 7, 2026 at 10:00 AM CST and questions due August 6, 2026. This is a brand-name sole-source procurement under FAR 12.102, restricting competition to authorized distributors of Crane Chem-Pharma valves.
Five line items totaling 16 units are specified: four 4-inch valves (Part Number 04AG064315), eight 3-inch valves (Part Number 03JG564315), one 2.5-inch valve (Part Number 25AG064315), two 3-inch valves (Part Number 03AG064315), and one 6-inch valve (Part Number 06AG064015). Delivery is required by January 19, 2027. Place of performance is the United States, with delivery FOB to the contractor's destination.
The valves are shock-rated safety components mandated by Navy acquisition documents to withstand high-impact shock loadings from underwater explosions, ballistic impacts, or combat without structural or operational failure; they support Fire Extinguishing Systems and are recognized only in direct-replacement form by the U.S. Coast Guard and American Bureau of Shipping. Only qualified sources certified under COMSCINST 4490.1C may produce and service these items. Authorized distributors responding must provide an OEM authorization letter and documentation establishing genuine parts with traceability and manufacturer warranties.
The procurement is a firm-fixed-price Supply-type Purchase Order under RFO Part 12. NAICS code is 332919 (Other Metal Valve and Pipe Fitting Manufacturing); PSC is 4820 (Valves, Nonpowered). Award is anticipated within two weeks of solicitation closure. Evaluation considers technical capability including delivery date, past performance, and price.
