About this opportunity
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency seeks to develop computational models capable of objectively predicting team effectiveness based on individual and team characteristics and performance outcomes. Through its Objective Prediction of Team Effectiveness via Models of Performance Outcomes program, DARPA aims to determine whether bio-behavioral signatures associated with team cohesion, collaboration and performance exist and can be identified. Proposals are due by January 31, 2024 and will be evaluated based on the proposer's ability to meet technical objectives involving predictive model accuracy exceeding 80% for overall and subtask team performance validation.
There is no set-aside designation for this pre-solicitation. The NAICS code is 541715 and PSC code is R425. Potential contractors were not identified and award values or budgets were not specified, though multiple awards are anticipated. The program involves developing predictive models through four research tasks over two phases to validate bio-behavioral signatures and explore their generalizability across DoD teams using three training environments.
Notice text
Current DoD team training assessment is limited, relying on rudimentary checklists and post-hoc, subjective evaluations of performance that will not be able to scale to future team training requirements. OP TEMPO will explore whether bio-behavioral signals can be used as valid, objective signatures of team performance. OP TEMPO focuses directly on the fundamental research necessary to identify bio-behavioral signatures associated with team cohesion, collaboration, and performance. As such, OP TEMPO will develop the foundation for novel approaches to understand, model, and assess team dynamics during training.
