About this opportunity
The Naval Supply Systems Command intends to solicit repair or modification of one optical bench (NSN 7R-4920-016199200-SX) with a pre-solicitation response deadline of August 3, 2026. This is a sole-source procurement: the Government lacks sufficient, accurate, or legible technical data to support full and open competition, and the item is flight-critical, requiring Government source approval prior to award.
Only sources previously approved by the Government for this item have been solicited. Contractors not yet approved as sources must submit source-approval documentation concurrent with their proposal, following either the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Spares or Repair Source Approval Information Brochure, depending on whether the item is being procured as a spare or repair. Documentation must include technical data based on the company's production experience with the same or similar item, or evidence of submission of all required data if a source-approval request is currently under evaluation at NAVSUP WSS. Proposals lacking complete source-approval documentation will not be considered for award.
The Government acknowledges that evaluation of source-approval requests may not complete in time to meet requirements; in such cases, award may proceed based on Fleet support needs using currently approved sources.
Delivery is FOB origin. Place of performance is not specified in the source material.
