About this opportunity

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a Special Notice announcing its intention to award a sole-source contract to Statista Inc. for access to the Statista Database User Access. The procurement will be structured as a task order under a GSA Schedule contract, utilizing FAR 6.302-1 authority for sole-source justification. Statista Inc., located at 55 Broad Street, 30th floor, New York, NY 10004, will provide a 12-month market research database subscription. The CPSC is authorized to enter into such contracts for equipment and services required to investigate consumer product safety and improve product safety under 5 U.S.C. 2054. The contract will be processed under FAR Part 8 and 12 procedures as a sole-source procurement based on the determination that only one responsible source can satisfy the agency's requirements.

The purpose of this procurement is to support CPSC's ongoing regulatory proceedings and compliance actions through comprehensive market research on consumer product markets and industry groups. Interested parties may submit capability statements demonstrating their ability to meet the requirement, though this notice is not a request for competitive quotations. All responses must be submitted in writing via email to the Contract Specialist at lbourne@cpsc.gov by 2:00 PM EST on August 18, 2025, within 10 calendar days of the notice issuance. The government retains sole discretion in determining whether to proceed with the sole-source procurement based on any responses received. No phone calls will be accepted, and the justification indicates that Statista provides unique breadth of coverage in collecting and categorizing publicly available information from consumer product industry and consumer advocacy associations that other sources cannot match.
