About this opportunity
The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU), a federal health sciences university located in Bethesda, Maryland, has issued a Special Notice of Intent to Sole Source a contract to the Strathmore Hall Foundation, Inc. This notice pertains to securing event space for the USU's National Capital Consortium (NCC) 2025 graduation rehearsal and ceremony. USU is a unique academic institution dedicated to educating health professionals for service in the Department of Defense and United States Public Health Service, with a focus on military medicine and public health. The agency is seeking to procure event space through a sole source procurement method, citing specific requirements that make the Strathmore Hall Foundation the only viable vendor. The notice was published on December 18, 2024, with a response deadline of January 2, 2025.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to notify potential contractors of USU's intent to negotiate directly with the Strathmore Hall Foundation for event space. Contractors interested in challenging this sole source determination must submit clear and convincing evidence that competitive procurement would be advantageous to the government, not cost or time prohibitive, and that they can meet the agency's specific requirements. Key requirements include proving the ability to provide event space that meets USU's needs, such as proximity to the campus, sufficient capacity, availability, and required parking. Eligible contractors must submit their responses via email to jennifer.wilsnack@usuhs.edu by 3:00 PM EST on January 2, 2025. The government will not reimburse any costs associated with preparing and submitting a response. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation, which will be considered in determining whether to proceed with a competitive procurement process.
