About this opportunity

The Department of Commerce Office of the Secretary has issued a Special Notice regarding its intent to sole source a contract with Trade Center Management Associates (TCMA) for event management services at the Ronald Reagan Building International Trade Center in Washington, DC. The notice, posted on May 27, 2025, with a response deadline of May 29, 2025, outlines the agency's plan to directly award a contract to TCMA without a competitive bidding process. The special notice emphasizes that while no formal solicitation is being issued, the government will consider any responses received prior to the closing date. The agency believes TCMA is the sole authorized provider of the required event management services for this specific location. The notice is identified by the Federal Contract Opportunity ID d8e192f3abac4f099ab0c09b79f62ea8 and has no specific set-aside classification.

The primary purpose of this special notice is to provide transparency about the intended sole-source contract and allow potential alternative vendors an opportunity to demonstrate their qualifications. The government retains full discretion to determine whether to proceed with the non-competitive procurement based on responses received. Contractors interested in challenging the sole-source determination must submit their qualifications and capabilities before the May 29, 2025 deadline. The notice specifically invites potential providers to demonstrate they can offer equivalent event management services for the Ronald Reagan Building International Trade Center. If no affirmative responses are received that convince the government of a more advantageous competitive source, TCMA will be awarded the contract. Interested parties should carefully review the notice and be prepared to provide comprehensive evidence of their capabilities if they wish to be considered as an alternative to TCMA.

This is NOT a solicitation for quotations, quotation abstracts, a request for competitive quotations; or request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received prior to the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government.

A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
