About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Medical Command's Department of Biomedical Engineering is seeking a Firm Fixed Price Sole Source Maintenance contract with Revvity Health Sciences for specialized laboratory equipment maintenance at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC). The procurement involves maintenance services for government-owned equipment consisting of two gamma counters and one scintillation counter used to conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly radiation surveys. The contract is structured as a sole source award due to Revvity Health Sciences Inc.'s proprietary jurisdiction over the maintenance and repair of their manufactured laboratory counters, as the company does not authorize third-party repairs or sell parts to other vendors. This pre-solicitation notice was posted on July 25, 2025, with interested parties having until July 31, 2025, to respond. The procurement falls under NAICS code 811210 for Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance and PSC code J065 for maintenance and repair of medical equipment.
This opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designations and is specifically targeted at Revvity Health Sciences as the sole source provider. The government projects awarding a base year contract with four additional option years, creating a potential five-year total contract duration. The maintenance contract covers three pieces of critical radiation detection equipment that require regular servicing to support ongoing radiation safety operations at the military medical facility. Given the specialized nature of the equipment and the proprietary restrictions on maintenance and parts availability, the Army Medical Command has determined that only the original equipment manufacturer can provide the required services.
