About this opportunity

The National Institutes of Health Clinical Center issued a notice of intent to sole source an ICU ventilator system to GE Healthcare Inc., with an objection deadline of August 20, 2026. The acquisition procures a Hamilton C6 Ventilator Package and H900 Heater Package for the Department of Nursing at NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland on a firm fixed price basis. GE Healthcare is identified as the sole source capable of supplying this equipment because the manufacturer provides proprietary hardware and software interfaces and data protocols not available from other vendors. The Hamilton C6 is already integrated with NIH's electronic medical record system, meets security requirements, and staff are trained on the equipment. The package includes clinical training, power cords, trolley, humidifier, battery, neonatal and high-flow oxygen therapy applications, and other integrated components. Use of alternative equipment would require significant system modification, revalidation, retraining of clinical staff, and could disrupt continuity of operations and data comparability. No solicitation document will be issued and quotations will not be requested under this sole source award.
