About this opportunity
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has issued a Special Notice of Intent to Sole Source a firm fixed purchase order to Comcast Cable Communications, LLC for a one-year renewal of Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) and Cable subscription across eighteen accounts. The notice pertains to services covering the Washington Division Area of Responsibility, which includes Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland. Scheduled for the performance period from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026, the procurement will be conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The contract is specifically for wired telecommunications services categorized under NAICS code 517111. The DEA has determined to pursue a sole source acquisition based on Comcast's comprehensive service coverage, understanding of agency policies, responsiveness, and ability to provide services in rural areas.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to inform potential contractors about the DEA's intent to award a non-competitive contract to Comcast and provide an opportunity for other interested parties to demonstrate their capabilities. Contractors who believe they can provide equivalent services are encouraged to submit a written response to Teresa Roshau-Delgado via email by Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM EST, referencing the number D-25-WA-0053. The award will be based on lowest price/technically acceptable criteria and is designated as ALL or NONE/BRAND NAME ONLY. While the government is soliciting information, it is not obligated to compete the procurement or provide feedback to respondents. The DEA reserves the right to use submitted information for any legally appropriate purpose and maintains sole discretion in determining whether to proceed with a competitive procurement. Interested parties should note that this notice does not guarantee a contract award and serves primarily as an informational communication.
