About this opportunity
The United States Marine Corps, through the Program Manager Ground Based Air Defense (PM GBAD) within the Program Executive Officer for Land Systems, intends to sole-source hardware and software life cycle management support for the AN/TPX-61(V)3 Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) interrogator system in support of the Marine Air Defense Integrated System (MADIS) program. This procurement falls under the radar equipment category (PSC 5840) and is justified under 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) based on the single responsible source doctrine, as the Government requires support specifically for the existing IFF interrogator capability within the MADIS product baseline. Interested parties may submit statements of capability and past performance data to demonstrate their interest and ability to meet requirements, with responses due by March 16, 2026 at 12:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time. The Government will evaluate all submissions received; however, the determination to proceed with sole-source procurement rather than competition remains entirely at the Government's discretion. This notice is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute a formal solicitation request.
Raytheon Company, located at 6260 Guardian Gateway Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, is identified as the sole-source contractor based on its role as the original designer, developer, and producer of the AN/TPX-61(V)3 IFF interrogator, with the determination that no other entity can provide the required hardware and software life cycle management support. No set-aside designation has been applied to this procurement. The Government anticipates awarding a hybrid Cost Reimbursement/Firm-Fixed-Price contract with an initial period of performance of one year, followed by four option years, although specific contract values or budget ranges are not disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. Prospective contractors should note that the Government will not reimburse costs associated with responding to this notice, and all submissions will become Government property.
