About this opportunity

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source contract to the University of Washington for expert consultation and evaluation of Acute Flaccid Myelitis (AFM) cases, including classification of cases and expertise in determining risk factors and potential etiologies. The CDC has determined the neurologist at the University of Washington is the only known provider outside the existing CDC AFM neurology panel capable of providing these specialized services for this novel illness. The key requirements are advanced training and experience in treating inflammatory neurological disorders, with over 4 years of experience conducting AFM case classification. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals within 15 days, but this is not a request for competitive quotations.

The contract is not set aside for any specific program. The NAICS code is likely 541715 - Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences (except Nanotechnology and Biotechnology) and the PSC code is likely R425 - Professional/Administrative/Management Development/Studies. There are no known incumbents or current contractors identified. The contract value is estimated to be under $250,000.
