The contract will be awarded to Nixon Power Services, LLC, which has been identified as the sole authorized service provider for Volvo generators in the region after comprehensive market research. Interested parties may submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations, which will be considered by the agency, though the government retains full discretion to proceed with the single-source award. Responses must be submitted to Contract Specialist A1C Karel Allen or Contracting Officer Matthew Michel by 5:00 PM Eastern Time on April 7, 2025. The procurement falls under NAICS category 811310 for commercial and industrial machinery and equipment repair and maintenance, with a specific Product Service Code (PSC) of J061 for maintenance and repair of electric power distribution equipment.
There are no specific set-aside designations for this contract, and the estimated value is not explicitly stated in the documentation. The contract is specifically for repairing a generator located at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Unit in Charleston, with Nixon Power Services being the proposed sole contractor. While the government indicates an intent to continue surveying the market for potential alternative service providers, the current solicitation is focused exclusively on this specific repair requirement. The generator in question is a 2014 Volvo model (TAD16416E), and the contract will be executed in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1) guidelines for simplified acquisition procedures. The procurement timeline suggests an expedited process, with the pre-solicitation notice posted on April 2, 2025, and responses due by April 7, 2025.
