About this opportunity
This Special Notice from the United States Agency for International Development in Ethiopia announces the intent to modify an existing contract with Save the Children Federation, Inc. The modification would increase the total estimated cost of the contract from $1,333,806 to $1,933,806 and extend the period of performance from January 1, 2021 to December 15, 2022 by nine months to September 15, 2023.
The purpose of the modification is to support the Household Economy Approach-Utilization activity through the 2023 humanitarian needs planning cycle. This will ensure over $1 billion in U.S. taxpayer dollars for humanitarian assistance in Ethiopia reaches those in need without political interference and vulnerable populations are not missed due to a lack of reliable local-level data on needs severity. The statutory authority permitting the sole-source modification without full and open competition is based on an exception for foreign aid, relief, and rehabilitation programs where competition would impair or adversely affect the programs. Interested parties have until November 29, 2022 to review the notice, though no additional contractors are being solicited as this involves modifying an existing contract under the stated statutory authority.
