About this file
This notice announces the U.S. Agency for International Development in Ethiopia's intent to modify an existing contract with Save the Children Federation, Inc. The modification would increase the total estimated cost from $1,333,806 to $1,933,806 and extend the period of performance from January 1, 2021 to December 15, 2022 by nine months to September 15, 2023. The contract supports the Household Economy Approach-Utilization activity through the 2023 humanitarian needs planning cycle to ensure over $1 billion in U.S. taxpayer dollars for humanitarian assistance in Ethiopia reaches those in need without political interference and vulnerable populations are not missed due to a lack of reliable local-level data on needs severity. The statutory authority permitting the sole-source modification is based on an exception for foreign aid, relief, and rehabilitation programs where full and open competition would impair or adversely affect the programs.
