About this opportunity

The Indian Health Service, under the Department of Health and Human Services, published a Special Notice on February 18, 2026, regarding the Navajo Area Indian Health Service's Gallup Service Unit in Gallup, New Mexico. The notice announces the intent to establish a single Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) with Technical Safety Services LLC for microbial testing and sampling services. The procurement involves testing for Tryptic Soy Agar media, media fill tests, surface sampling, and microbial analysis services required by USP standards. This is a non-competitive award based on market research indicating the identified vendor is the sole capable source for the required services. The NAICS classification for this procurement is 541380 (Testing Laboratories and Services) with a small business size standard of $19.0 million.

The BPA is intended to support Gallup Indian Medical Center's microbial testing requirements, including finger tip and thumb sampling, surface sampling, incubation at dual temperatures, bacterial and fungal identification, and official reporting. Interested firms believing they possess the capability to fulfill these requirements must submit capability statements, price lists, and catalogs via email to the point of contact no later than March 5, 2026 at 10:00 AM MST. The anticipated period of performance consists of a 12-month base period with one optional one-year renewal period. While the identified vendor is deemed sufficient for current needs, the government remains open to evaluating alternative sources that can demonstrate comparable capabilities. No further awards will be made unless the medical center's testing needs change significantly.
