About this opportunity

The Federal Aviation Administration intends to award a sole-source contract to Satcom Direct Government, LLC. for satellite internet, data, voice, and 5G services on FAA Challenger 605 and King Air 360 aircraft, with a notice-of-intent comment deadline of July 28, 2026.

Market research conducted by the FAA found no alternative vendor capable of meeting the required services within the existing outfitting schedule without additional technical validation, integration redesign, or certification coordination. Satcom Direct Government possesses direct and ongoing experience supporting the FDX Galileo Low Earth Orbit and Swift Broadband service architecture already installed on both aircraft and has been actively engaged in network provisioning, service configuration planning, integration sequencing, and operational coordination during the outfitting phase. Use of an alternative provider would require removal or modification of existing aircraft equipment, additional certification, system integration, and associated downtime, resulting in substantial duplication of costs and unacceptable operational delays.

Place of performance is identified as Melbourne, Florida (Satcom Direct Government's location). The NAICS code is 334220 (Radio and Television Broadcasting & Wireless Communications Equipment Manufacturing) with a size standard of 1250 employees. PSC code is 5821 (Radio and Television Communication Equipment, Airborne). No set-aside applies to this procurement.
