About this opportunity
The United States Marine Corps has issued a Notice of Intent to Award a sole source contract to HydroWorx International Inc. for maintenance services of a 2000 Series Underwater Treadmill HydroWorx Pool. This specialized aquatic rehabilitation equipment is currently used by the Wounded Warrior Battalion for the recovery of injured service members. The notice represents a recompete for a three-year maintenance service plan, building upon previous contracts M0068122P0027 and M0068123P0042 for maintenance and repair services. The Marine Corps has determined that HydroWorx International is the only authorized provider capable of servicing this equipment without voiding warranties. The procurement falls under the Sporting and Athletic Goods Manufacturing NAICS category and involves maintenance and repair of recreational/athletic equipment.
The primary objective of this sole source award is to ensure continued operation of critical rehabilitation equipment through preventative maintenance services, including six scheduled visits over 36 months. Interested parties have until August 13, 2025, to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) via email to Sgt Dylan Armstrong at dylan.armstrong@usmc.mil, with responses due within 15 business days of publication. The Marine Corps justifies the sole source approach based on restrictive rights, exclusive licensing agreements, and the unique nature of the equipment that requires specialized technical expertise only available through HydroWorx International. Contractors seeking to participate must demonstrate capability to service this legacy equipment, though the government reserves the right to determine whether competitive procurement will be conducted. The anticipated contract award date is September 5, 2025, and will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures due to the specialized nature and critical importance of maintaining this rehabilitation asset for wounded service members.
Notice text
This requirement is a recompete for a three (3) year Maintenance Service Plan of the 2000 Series Underwater Treadmill HydroWorx Pool that was previously installed by HydroWorx International and is being used by Wounded Warrior Battalion for the recovery of service members. There are no other agents or dealers authorized to represent or service this product. Any service performed without authorization of HydroWorx International could void any and all warranties.
