About this opportunity
Marine Corps Installations East announced a sole-source intent to award Guardian RF Corporation a contract for a passive radio frequency detection system and software by August 15, 2026, under a Total Small Business set-aside. The system must continuously detect and track unmanned aircraft systems within installation-controlled airspace and simultaneously identify and report the location of the UAS operator or ground control station. Based on Government market research and capability demonstrations, Guardian RF is the only known commercial system meeting both threshold requirements; the operator-location capability is critical to enable rapid Marine Corps security response and physical apprehension of unlawful UAS operators. This is not a competitive solicitation. Responsible sources believing they can satisfy the requirements may submit a capability statement to eris.cassano@usmc.mil by August 15, 2026 at 1200 hours. The Government will evaluate all timely responses to determine whether competitive acquisition is appropriate; the determination to proceed sole-source remains solely within Government discretion. Respondents will not be reimbursed for submission costs.
Notice text
Marine Corps Installations East (MCIEAST) intends to award a sole-source contract to Guardian RF Corporation for a passive radio frequency detection system and associated software and support.
MCIEAST requires a system capable of continuously detecting and tracking unmanned aircraft systems within installation-controlled airspace while simultaneously identifying and reporting the location of the UAS operator or ground control station.
Based on the Government’s market research and capability demonstrations, Guardian RF is the only known commercial system that has successfully demonstrated both required capabilities. Locating the operator is essential because it enables Marine Corps security personnel to rapidly respond to and apprehend individuals unlawfully operating UAS aboard military installations.
This notice is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responsible sources that believe they can meet the Government’s requirements may submit a capability statement to eris.cassano@usmc.mil by 15 August, 2026 @1200. The Government will consider all timely responses in determining whether a competitive acquisition is appropriate. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government.
The Government will not reimburse respondents for costs associated with submitting information.
